Moulin Rouge will win, it's a sad sad world.

I've always seen the Oscars or any movie awards show as very cliquish. They always vote for the 'artsie' movies and not ones that people liked neccessarily.

Remember English Patient? This won all kinds of awards.
We rented it, it came in two tapes. The only reason we put in the second tape is we figured it had to get better, it never did. Awful movie.

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Traffic" are both superior films.

And Tom Hanks should have won for "Cast Away".

As I said before:
I think the real Oscar Time will be in three years (two?), when all three LotR films are out.

Then, Hollywood will give in to their craving for a megablockbuster, and give the movie all awards any of the three would have merited.

Otoh, they don't come into the pressure of having to grant PJ an oscar now, and then justify themselves if next year is a weak year and PJ has done the same terrific job.

So, Return of the King (or perhaps they even nominate "The LotR trilogy"?) will get 15+ Oscars!!!
