D&D (2024) Lots of new Lance options

Double lances is silly whichever way round you word it (as is using a lance in any sort of confined space like a dungeon).

The RAI is that you can use lance and shield whilst mounted.

Not new to the 2024 rules. I came up with a concept for a gnome artificer battlesmith with duel lances a few years ago.

But I felt that in the end, it was more fun to go with a character that made sense than one who focused on a silly twist of RAW.

But you can use it with GWM and PAM now, which is a big difference.

You can get GWM+ PAM + a shield + dueling fighting style all at once.

I’m not sure “Two-handed (unless mounted)” would really qualify as a weapon that lacks the two-handed property… It could certainly be read that way, but I think you could also easily interpret it as always having the two-handed property, but only applying that property when you aren’t mounted.
Good point!

I think the Dual Wielder fighting style may get around that, but I'm not sure of its exact wording.

No it does not. You have to attack with a light weapon to use the bonus attack of the dual wielding feat.

Two lances, or two longswords, or two flails is not a thing any more (at least when it comes to making a bonus action attack).
