But I'm not apologizing for the marketing anymore
Did you ever?!?!

Largely, you're right that it's a bit late to be concerned about the marketing per se, but there are still a lot of boneheaded (IMHO, of course) WotC that are ongoing.
Unless, of course, that one is complaining about having made a purchase sight unseen on the basis of DDI tools that don't exist, and may never exist, like the VT, of course.

Other moves, like pulling pdfs because they are unsafe (except, of course, for the 4e pdfs they didn't pull), might cheese folks off because they are (like the VT) ongoing issues.
Or the GSL. Began a dud. Revised into a dud. Remains a dud.
So, yeah, if WotC cleared up the ongoing issues, and people were still upset a year later, without new ongoing issues to be upset about, it would be a bit much. When (if) that day comes, I won't "largely agree" with you; I'll agree with you 100%.

Of course, I will have abandoned WotC-D&D for so long by that point that clearing up those issues will be pretty well meaningless to me. Except that, if they change to a more useful (to me) format, I might end up buying more adventures to convert.
