Hey, @Scott DeWar , wanna play some beefy wrasslin' Goliath or something and be a Defender, Scott DeWar? All the cool kids are doing it, Scott DeWar... don't you wanna be cool, Scott DeWar?

Sorry, I am starting a new game (3.5) with Masquerading Vampire, FKA Crazy Monkey. I have 11 active characters, soon to be 12. I think that is my limit.

scottdeWarr: fie! Clearly some of those games need to TPK so you can join one of mine! :D

Herobizkit: Could you help me with my character gen? There's lots to take in, and I'd like to make sure I'm doing the best job. I also don't have the CB, so can't fiddle.

I'd like to know if a solid ardent would be better than an Ardent/Battlemind. That and whether a human or a half-elf would be the best option. If there's some psionic backgrounds instead of Clone, that would be a help as well.

What I'm looking for: Ability to heal; ability to augment other party members; cool psionic stuff (the Battlemind speed boost thing is neat); Some kind of psionic lightsabre or sword-glowy-thing like in the Ardent picture is another plus; ditto any kind of glowing field she can whip up.
The inspiration for Elandra is the Ardent picture in the PH3, although all the art looks great.

I'd say the Elation (Con/Cha) build is what I'd go for, with Dex as the backup stat I guess. Dunno if that makes her useless outside of combat (another issue, I suppose).

I have little to no experience building Psionic characters, but I can try and cobble something together. I didn't try to min/max my own character too much, I don't think... I went for theme first.

Regarding Hybrids, it's usually better not to hybrid unless you have something specific in mind. In my case, I slapped a Striker onto a Controller so I could stay in beast form and still do respectable damage. I could have slapped on Sentinel instead of regular druid for heals, but the theory was that we'd have a full party so I figured I'd let the healer enjoy healing.

Far as I can tell, Ardents and Battleminds are both melee classes - so being "punch drunk" is going to be par for the course for you.

I gave you Scale mail that can change into regular clothes if you don't like wearing heavy armor, and you have the option to take Light or Heavy Shield as equipment. At the moment, I gave you a Falchion with the Valenar Weapon training for +2 damage with it.

Despite your desire to keep enemies near you, I gave you a crap ton of pushes to keep foes away from you. :3

Are you still recruiting? I'm new to EN World, as well as play by post, but I'm pretty interested. I can fill any role that needs to be filled, such as a wizard or fighter.

I don't have access to a subscription to Wizards, however. There is another sheet I can use, though. Would that be all right?

Absolutely! I don't have an active subscription either, so you can use whatever you like, or just type one up yourself. I believe we have a Striker, Striker/Controller, and Leader/Defender, so pretty much any role is available. What would you like to play?

We have two strikers and a good support with a defender... hmm...

Is a Slayer from Essentials open? If not, I could use a Warlock.

Oh dang, I've never used themes before xD my group never uses them. So I'll either be an Elf Slayer (a bit oddball) or a Satyr Warlock. That sound alright to you?

I may change to a wizard or sorceror...something with some area effects wouldn't come amiss, and hexblades are really single-target specialists.

Nothing decided yet, but it's something I'm kicking around.
