Low will save problems

Get resistance added to the cloak then. Expensive? yes. But, it makes you like that item that much more and might take some interesting rp in order to get it done.
Yes, one of my co-players suggested this today. I'm not sure my DM will go for it (it's hard for us to buy expensive magic items), but I happen to know that a wealthy religious order will soon be offering me a sizeable reward in return for undertaking a quest.

Tome & Blood had a Vest of Resistance variation on the Cloak of Resistance...
Is that priced like a cloak of resistance plus 50% for being worn in a different slot? (I don't think anyone in my group has T&B.)

Nope. It has the same price as a cloak of resistance.

Save bonus item question

I actually have run into the same problme with a fighter; at 5th level he has a total +2 to will saves. We are in a VERY low magic/treasure campaign (we just hit the "jackpot" and found a hoard of treasure; approximately 20,000 coins. unfortunatel, mostly copper...) so I am looking for cheap wasy to boost it. Of course I could go for the feat (and probably will), but I am thinking of other ways also. Anyhoo, I was wondering if this pricing logic would be true:

The SRD has save bonus magic items costing bonus squared x 1000. This is for a bonus to ALL three saves, so 9,000 pg for a cloak of resistyance +3. If I got an item of +3 to JUST the will save would it be 1/3 of the price (3,000 gp vs. 9,000)?

IRON WILL. It's a must for fighter types. It doesn't matter how strong you are when you're constantly being held or put to sleep.

There's no such item in the core game, so your DM would have to price one for you, if it existed in your world. I probably wouldn't use that logic in mine, because it allows a PC to shore up a save weakness far too cheaply. So I might grant a small price reduction, but not nearly 2/3s. The Cloak of Resistance +3 is 9,000gp, I might offer an Amulet of Mental Defense for 7,000gp.

But that's just me. Ask your DM. If he's willing to buy into your logic, you're golden. :)

Absolutely! Pure fighter types who did not take Iron Will are baaad! :D

Also, cloak of resistance (or other item that gives resistance bonus to saves) is a MUST for every adventurer!

Half price might be appropriate...

Consider it like this: A Cloak of Resistance +3 would cost 3,000 gp. An Amulet of Willpower +3, a Belt of Fortitude +3, and Boots of Reaction +3 would cost a total 4,500 and take up three magic item slots instead of just one. Also, you can make the bonuses granted from the individual items resistance bonuses, in which case they wouldn't stack with a Cloak of Resistance.
