The Sisters' Grove

The creature continues to shuffle forward towards Autumn with a limb-pierced arm reaching out as if trying to caress her face with its devastated hand. It did hear Zinnelis' query as proven by its baldly stated assertion:

"I slew them. The meal was tasteless. But, perhaps, there is a sweet morsel here still."

Though disturbing in appearance, the menace exuded with those simple words washed over the group with sudden and shocking force.

[sblock=Zinnelis]This creature is like nothing Zinnelis has seen before and likely a denizen of some dark reach of the Hidden Path. He has heard of plants with disturbing behaviors like the hangman's tree or the assassin vine. This could very well be something similar. He can tell, however, that the body it wears, has grown up through, was once a beautiful fey creature, a dryad.[/sblock]

The creature’s words were disturbing to Zinnelis, as was the menace that exuded with them. “Why?” he asked. “Why did you kill them?”

There were dark things that existed in these twilight realms, and this thing seemed to have grown its way through the body of a beautiful dryad. The elven ranger didn’t like the way it approached Autumn.

Taking careful aim, Zinnelis fired an arrow at the creature.

“Stay where you are,” he warned.

Arradon continues his advance, coming to rest directly behind the creature. His dagger is ready to strike at the slightest hostile move. Normally go for an artery or the base of the spine, but it's a tree. A tree... Do trees even have weak spots? His eyes scan over the facing of the creature he has an angle on, searching desperately for anything that looks like an obvious target.

The Sisters' Grove

Zinnelis’ arrow struck the creature and quivered with the force of impact. The creature shrieked and pawed at the arrow like it burned its woody flesh. Injured and infuriated the creature flailed about for a nearby enemy to attack.

GM: Zinnelis’ attack opens combat.
Round One: Everyone is up!

Zinnelis gave a small smile of satisfaction as the cold iron arrow sank into the woody flesh of the strange monster. This thing boasted of killing The Sisters, whoever those were, and seemed to have corrupted or devoured or...something...a dryad.
