The heavy metal fantasy RPG Mörk Borg is getting a video game. Today, the indie video game studio Morbidware announced MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme, a new side-scrolling style video game inspired by the art of the dark fantasy game. The game appears to be a side-scroller in which players take control of an adventurer battling through monsters and horrific creatures on the brink of the apocalypse. A Kickstarter for the game will launch on October 1st. The trailer can be seen below:
The Mörk Borg tabletop game is a rules-light RPG about the final days of a doomed world. Players attempt to finish the campaign ahead of the world's end, with the DM rolling a dice (size depending on the length of the campaign) to determine whether the world inches closer to their doom. Each time the DM rolls a 1 on the die, a Misery is unleashed upon the world, with the final 1 ending the world at the end of that day. Character stats and skill tests are relatively simple, with combat brutal and often resulting in death. Free League Publishing released the original Mörk Borg and several spinoff games have been made for different genres.
