Deezy grins from ear to ear, and holds her arm out towards the door.

"Anyone in there better stand back!"

The weird gizmo that's strapped to her forearm emits a tone that rapidly rises in pitch...vreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...then discharges a bright blue-white jag of heat and light that hits the center of the weakened point of the door and sprays a flurry of sparks everywhere!

"Anyone in there better stand back!"

Deezy fires a burst at the hatch..
Hatch: 10 9 vs 19 --> Injured Dying
Hmm.. woops math fail.. um... *Cough* Fiat *Cough*

... cause the cracks on it's surface to lengthen. Then after a brief moment, the steel door suddenly shatters with a series of loud clanks and bangs revealing a faintly lit stairwell.

"The bunker is about five stories below us. Their should be an intercom panel just inside that hatch, hopefully those controls were not damaged."

OOC: Any an all evidence of their having once been an intercom counsel on the outside of the bunker was destroyed by the raiders along with the outer controls for the door.

"Hu." The desert man breathed in, then gifted Dunesage with a mildly bothered look. "You are a hard man to impress."

<Response Dunesage?>

And for another - he gestured for Klatta to *carefully* handle the intercom while the rest of them stood watch - strangely un-eager to talk to his own people...

OOC: Notice +10, both on the inside of the bunker and for outside ambush.

If Brian or Sahid want to handle the intercom instead, please go ahead. Seif's a bit rough around the hedges, but he's always consdered orders to be poorly phrased suggestions. And, without thinking, he expects others to feel the same way. ;)

Deezy poked her sandy-tufted head in through the curling smoke that still wafted between the two scorched halves of the door. She coughed at the acrid scent of it, and at the dry, dead air inside the bunker.

Powering the blaster down to conserve its charge, she spied the intercom on the wall next to the door and went over to give it a try...

"Feats of magic are common place in the regions that exist beyond the gaze of the great cities. My appreciation technologies magic must wait."

The intercom has a large button that is located next to a speaker and what appears to be three indicator lights and seems to be powered via a metallic tube that is attached to the intercom and runs towards the floor.

Deezy is able to make out that the lights are used to indicate which of the three linked intercoms are in use (or functioning?). The lights are off.

When Deezy presses the button the lights remain off, immediately telling her that the intercoms is currently not functional. Perplexed, Deezy starts taking the intercom apart to determine the cause of the malfunction...

[sblock=Seif]No trap. However, he does notice something that Deezy fails to notice when she is buisy studying the intercom: The metal tub connected to the intercom is sliced in half and the wall to the right and left of the slice appears to be shredded.

OOC: I' not certain if "shredded" is the best word to describe the damage. What you see is akin to taking a chainsaw to a concrete wall.[/sblock]

Suddenly Seif was by her side, then three steps beyond, both swords drawn, seeking a target!

OOC: Ready action to deflect or block any incoming attack.

As nothing immediately materialized <I hope>, the robed one jerked his head to the left by way of explanation.

Looking down and further along, Deezy saw that the metal tube connected to the intercom was sliced in half where he indicated, the wall to the right and left of the slice strangely... shredded.

"Ottoman, I suggest you ask what he knows of this." Seif's voice was tight, his eyes still searching.

OOC: What does the inside of the bunker look like, Relique? Specifically, any signs of other damage not caused by us (that includes the back/circumference of the vault door)? How's the illumination in here by the way?

Deezy moved her attention from the controls to the conduit and winced. "Oof, yeah, that'd do it. Might be able to fix it if we can get more of this metal open so I can get at the wires inside. Sort of depends on the kind of wires they used."

She looks around at the Ottoman's roar and blinks, startled. "What're you so mad about?"
