[M&M3] Astonishing Tales of Centropolis Vol. #3, Issue 1 ‘This Island Apocalypse’

OOC: Starlight's environment effect is only 60 feet. So she fly around behind the scientists about 60 feet back and basically shouted "Hey you." Anyone on the opposite side of the scientists should still be in "darkness" (I'm not sure how one has only exactly 60 feet of bright light, but that's what the rules say.) So, yes, she was trying to draw fire and that seems to have worked. But she was also trying not to hamper the other darkness and light combatants.

"CRAVEN DOGS!" the flying man shouts "You will pay for your insolence when my lord hears of this!!!" when suddenly there a burst of fire as he flies almost straight up and disappears from sight!!!

The heroes catch their breath as only the sounds of the river and nearby waterfall replace and the debris start settling to jungle floor...

GM: See OOC for notes. The team can spend some time here and even travel on and should recover all toughness penalties before anything else happens

Rumble shook his head as the Volcano Boy flew away. "Punk@$$Bi!tch." He muttered before trying to find where all the robot goons popped out from.

Rumble easily finds where the giant spider-like robot came from with a large hole in the jungle floor. It did appear that it was not simply a hole though and maybe a small bunker had been build right next to the river itself. The trail left by the robots was easily enough to follow back towards the waterfall. Peering over the cliff side the street fighter could see that group had come from the camp below. Many of the structures below had door open and various gear dropped hap-haphazardly about as if they had been in a rush.

Rumble's tactical mind got a good idea of what happened. Probably very close to the instant the robot-spider-thing had appeared from its underground lair the robots dressed like 'security' had leap up from the floor below to the cliff side and then raced through the jungle the short distance to where the ambush had taken place. The robots dressed like 'scientists' had rushed over to grabbed similar gear from a number of utility sheds, donned similar gear as the security team and then followed a few seconds later.

Rumble grunted. "I am gonna check out this thing's hidey-hole." He pointed at the entrance he discovered. "Any of you stuper-dudes or dudettes got any got any stupor-senses? If ya do, yer invited to the party!"

The hole was close to 20 feet deep and at least as wide. When Rumble got down to the bottom it appeared the spider thing would not have had a lot of room to move around but it could have at least pointed in different directions, depending on where 'targets' approached it by.

GM: Rumble can make a Perception check while in the hole
[sblock=results of a 15+]There appears to be some kind of door in one of the walls of the bunker. You would never have seen it from above ground.[/sblock][sblock=Results of a 20+]There is a door in one of the walls within the bunker and you think their appears to be some kind of security key half buried under some dirt nearby. Kitsune follows Rumble down, clinging to the wall as she went. For once she didn't quip or speak, as she was still invisible and really preferred not to call attention to herself in such an enclosed space. Though it was dark down there, her powers didn't need much light to see by...

[roll0] Perception.

She waits for a moment to see if Rumble had caught the detail she had...
