M4: Under the Volcano [Nimisgod judging] -CONCLUDED

Hogarth watches the group work together.

"Surely we will die in the glory of the Gundar's blood. But if we do escape, will you go back to the land where you came from? What sort of land is that?" he asks the merchant & anyone else who can speak goblin.

Razh heads into the water with the thigh/scroll case/air pocket. He treads water at the end of the air section, looking for the light down the tunnel.

Eanos: [sblock] Eanos decides that this is in fact, a dead end. He flip turns and kicks off the wall, heading back as quickly as possible. He finds the first tunnel split and turns right. He finds the second split and turns left. At this point, his lungs are exploding. His vision starts to blacken...

Eanos must make two CON checks DC=10 for the first, DC 11 for the second. If he makes both of these he surfaces next to Razh. if not...[/sblock]

Razh sees the light coming down the tunnel. It seems to be moving erraticly.

"The whole world is my land," Nurlan answers him. "I come from Lhondaio, but I travel. I am a singer, and a collector of songs. Wherever people have music, to sing of love, to sing of life's struggles, to sing of heroic deeds, or just to sing for the sheer pleasure of melody, I can make my home there. And all people have songs, so I can be at home among all people."

[sblock=underwater]1st round was a lovely 18. Then came the second round, and a pitiful 2.

If I figure this right, Eanos' survival pretty much depends on Razh's decision. If he started underwater as soon as he saw the light, he and Eanos would meet in the round that Eanos starts to drown, but he won't fully drown until the third round. If Razh drags him 15 ft. per round, then Eanos is at -1 and dying in the second round of drowning when they surface.

If Razh decides to delay, well, it's been real and all... :\ [/sblock]

[SBLOCK=Goblin]"I respect Gundar, but I am not ready to give him my life. I have a family, and I'll go back to them. For a long time, I had no real home, as I was a travelling merchant. I then met Valeria. A charming woman who knows how to manipulate me... and I got three kids with her. I decide to establish to Orussus, a city of trade, where I open my shop. It is crowdy, you'll see mainly humans, elves and hafling, but you might also see dwarves, goblin or orcs in the street. People have somehow found a way to live together, but not always peacefully. You can find the best of each race, and the worst. Luckily, there is a lot mroe good than evil, so it makes a nice place to live... but I like to much to travel to stay on place, so I will surely take back the road after a short time. Maybe one day, I'll sttle down... it might be a good thing before my kids are too old and..."[/SBLOCK] Rinaldo voices suddenly come silent. "Eanos!" He hands the scroll case to Razh and almsot push him into the water. "Go help him!" he order the dwarf.

Rasereit Vundinn, Dwarven Rescue Diver

Razh splutters as Rinaldo pushes him underwater. "Agh, fer the love o' the Do-" The rest is indecipherable and comes up in garbled bubbles. Razh's head emerges from the water quickly. He takes a deep gulp of air, and dives back underwater, heading for the light, making sure to keep the tube vertical.

I had Razh already in the water, waiting for Eanos to return.

When the dwarf sees the light, he takes a breath and dives, swimming towards it. Eanos swims towards him, his world blacking out. He can't quite make it to the surface, but he makes it to Razh, who pulls him up, unconscious. Eanos has dropped the lighted club, and Razh drops the thigh bone.

Razh pulls him to shore (this takes two rounds). Eanos is unconscious. Razh has shouted that he needs help. The group fumbles towards Razh's voice. Hogarth calls out "Let me through!" in goblin. He touches his hand to the drowned monk's bearded face, speaking softly in his strange gutteral language (Terran - casts CLW). Water spouts out of Eano's mouth and he comes to.

Eanos at 5 Hps.

"Eanos, are you all right?" asks Rinaldo as Eanos spit the water and come back to him.

[SBLOCK=Goblin]"Thank you, Hogarth."[/SBLOCK]

Ogrin will assist the others, but waits to warm up before attempting any further swimming ventures.

OOC: I'll be on a small vacation in Estonia over the weekend, back on monday or so.

Eanos' voice is raw as he speaks, forcing himself to sit up.

"For the moment, I seem to have dodged the Southern journey again," he says. "Thank you, Razh. And, I assume, Hogarth? Clearly my speed isn't entirely good compensation for a heartier body."

He shakes his head, sloughing off further dwelling on his near death.

"This time, at least, I have true intelligence, though it's not good news," he says. "The left path Ogrin bypassed before is a dead end. It seems that our way out is either somewhere to the right, or that this entire underwater maze has no egress to the outside."

"I have an idea to help us explore with less risk, but it will take more time. We use the scroll case to carry air. When we see a cavity in the rock above your head, you just put the air there and come back. You could do a few pocket of air between here and the crocodile beach. That way, when we will want to explore, or swim back where we were, we will be able to do it with less risk. Eanos, do you think you could start to do that. I suggest we put a klight spell on the scroll case to not hinder more teh swimmer who will do that." suggets Rinaldo.
