M4: Under the Volcano [Nimisgod judging] -CONCLUDED

"I would suggest to first garantee us a way out of this island. The lava is slowly eating the island, but it might explode at any moment. once we have secured a way out, mainly having a boat waiting for us, we can seek our equipement. We will need it if we have to meet Frump or Causticus. Then, I would go for Causticus first, then Frump. but if we fall on Frump before Causticus, we can make him pay for his treachery too." suggest Rinaldo

"Fair enough. To the docks, then. I'd suggest not attempting the approach by water though. I've had enough of that for today."

The docks

The party descends towards the ramshackle village outside the gates of the city. There are numerous poorly made huts, dirty, trash-strewn streets. The party pushes through to the dock. Various goblinoids, mostly women and children dash about in panic. Many crowd towards the docks, where the party can see four wooden jetties thrusting out over the water. Several small boats can be seen being loaded. Several more are already in the water, with figures crowding the decks. The first pier is not so hard to approach.

The fist pier is the shortest, only about 60 feet long. The other piers are 2 to 3 times that length, with correspondingly more boats. There is only one boat on the first pier. It has oars, and a single broad, rectangular sail, which is being hoisted by two goblins. An number of other armed figures mill about the boat, loading it with barrels and boxes.

At the start of the pier, where it meets the land, stand three guards. They eye the goblinoid rabble warily and with weapons at ready. In the middle stands an ogre with a greatclub. At either side is a mailed hobgoblin.

"Cautiscus doesn't seems to have left the island. Here seems to be his boat. Hard to get, but it would worth much if we could put our hand on it. One ogre, two hobgoblins and some goblins. I think we have seen tougher opponent, but I am not sure we have seen worst condition." tells Rinaldo, looking at his poor equipement.

"With some chance, two or three of us could approach near enough that we could surprise the Ogre and take him down before he can react. With our equipement, we could easily prentend to be hobgoblin or goblins, at least just enough time to approach, as they seems to have more eyes for the goblin than the crowd. Even with our equipement, I think we can easily take the ship if we can get rid of the quickly."

Rasereit Vundinn, Dwarven Barbarian

Razh looks worried. "Look, mates, Ah'm all for fightin' our way out o' 'ere, but... It's been me experience that when goblins aren't fightin' each other they're on the same side. An' those goblins-" he gestures towards the crowd, "Aren't going t'stand by an' let us beat those guards dahn." He scans the horizon nervously. "T'boot, we don't even 'ave a goal! Are we still goin' after that sleezeball noble an' his lyin' slave, or are we high tailin' it? Or is there some plan that Ah'm not aware of yet?"

"There's got t'be somethin' else we kin do aside from throwin' ourselves into the crowd o' foes, though. Ah'm... eh, jus' drawin' a blank righ' now."

"Well we know that ships exist still for us to flee on if it comes to that. I think that we should head back for Causitus now, and that traitor frump." replies Tenebrynn.

"We don't even know where to start our search. And as long as the crew is there, they could decide to leave with the ship and don't wait for us... or for there master if they think he will never show up." Rinaldo stare at the docks... there must be a way to get a boat

The group pauses, looking around and discussing their options. They notice the goblinoid rabble is very unorganized, and paniced. Without a strong leader, they can't organize to do much of anything.

Also, the group is able to see a tall black-garbed figure step out of the hatch of the boat. His cloak billows out behind him. He shouts orders at the goblinoids loading the boat. It is undoubtably Causticus. There appear to be six goblinoids helping with the loading.

"Look... I think we have a all in one. Cautiscus, a boat, and I wouldn't be surprise he has our stock with him... after all, there was many interesting things for even him... but I would like to see that Ogre gone before anything else, after that we can hope that teh crowd will just try to flee... But I fear for two thing: Frump and teh dragon." tells Rinaldo. "But we must choose quickly now, Causticus won't await for us to make a choice."
