Mac Repair/Upgrade Services?

Enforcer

Hi all, I'm looking to replace my 12" G4 iBook's 30GB hard drive with a much larger one. The original plan was to just buy a compatible drive and install it myself, but after reviewing some online instructions I realize that this replacement is way out of my league.

The Apple Store doesn't do upgrades, and I'd really rather not use CompUSA. Has anyone heard of macservice.com? They seem like they know what they're doing and they'll do a data transfer for me.

I'm also looking for other suggestions: either a "mail-it-in" type place like MacService or somewhere in Chicago.

Out by my way (MD/DC) there is a company that is the guest experts on DC's NPR Monthly computer show:

http://www.midatlanticconsulting.com

Mid Atlantic Consulting (M.A.C. ha-ha) may be able to have it mailed to them and fixed/upgraded for you. If not, they are a part of a few Mac certified groups that would probably have other members which may be closer.

Not much, but their company is respected enough to be in cooperation with a radio show. *shrug*
