This being appears to be a male human, shorn completely bald and hairless on his entire body. He wears nothing over his muscular frame except for a pair of breeches.

I don't want them to be as scaly as a medusa, but I can see a slight alteration in their appearance. Maybe something like the faint appearance of scales along their shoulders, elbows, eyebrows, etc, or maybe in some places their skin peels and flakes away like a snake shedding its skin. I think a maedar should be able to disguise itself as a human with relative ease, but making them more reptilian (they already have no body hair) does seem wise.

i was looking for comments mostly on the second part.

Going by the quintessential human-but-a-little-snaky, the yuan-ti pureblood, serpentine eyes, faint scales around the joints and as accents to facial features, forked tongue and/or a snaky grace would all be appropriate accents.

I agree with Shade that Track should be the bonus feat. It is for a lot of other creatures. I can give up Spring Attack easily - they don't especially need it.

I prefer human + medusa -> medusas and humans (although vipers is a nice touch) and maedar + medusa -> medusas and very rarely maedar.

Adamantine strike looks good, ferocity is a good match for them.

Demiurge out.

Instead of scaly, I'd prefer something more subtle. Perhaps their skin looks *too* smooth, even glossy. As if their whole skin is made from a scale-like substance, rather than soft human-skin.

Stone to Flesh (Su): Once every 3 minutes,

It's probably just me, but isn't "Once every 3 minutes" awfully 2nd edition?
Might as well be once per encounter or once per hour.
Actually I'd prefer x/hour or x/day.

Once per ten minutes, I think, would work. Once every three is a little arcane, but I see nothing wrong with it. No real reason all numbers have to be so big and round.

Demiurge out.

how about this take on appearance:

This being appears to be a male human with a muscular frame, wearing only a pair of breeches. His eyes resemble those of a serpent's, and the skin of his entire body is unnusually smooth and completely hairless.

i can make Stone To Flesh usable once per minute (every 10 minutes seems like a bit much). or would 10 rounds be better? in 2E it worked "once every 3 turns" when of course "turn" meant "10 rounds".

i capitulate: ;)

Most medusas are forced to mate with blinded or blindfolded human males, as a maedar can be difficult to find. This cross produces two to six eggs that hatch into either fledgling medusas, or human males who turn to stone upon the sight of their mother. When a medusa is able to find a maedar to mate with, their offspring are generally medusas, though an infinitesimal percentage of males born from such a pairing will be maedar.

10 rounds parses better than once per minute. Most abilities are broken down by rounds, after all.

Demiurge out.

I'd rather see this ability as a simple X/day (probably at least 5).

I like the new descriptive text, and the mating habits are doable. ;)
