I concur, but I suspect the name will be something drawn from mythology. There is a good article on Space.com on the debate over this new planet and the definition of the word planet.

That's an interesting read. You would think that in at least the last 75 years, they would have come up with a solid deifnition of what constitutes a planet, since Pluto is so highly debated.

You think? That seems kind of odd to pussyfoot around such a highly debatable subject simply because they don't want to offend one person. But then I'm not a scientist so maybe that's normal behavior.

I wonder if it might have anything to do with the fact that he's the only American to discover a planet. Maybe American scientists didn't want "one of their own" to be disparaged in any way.
