That's an interesting read. You would think that in at least the last 75 years, they would have come up with a solid deifnition of what constitutes a planet, since Pluto is so highly debated.

You think? That seems kind of odd to pussyfoot around such a highly debatable subject simply because they don't want to offend one person. But then I'm not a scientist so maybe that's normal behavior. ;)

I wonder if it might have anything to do with the fact that he's the only American to discover a planet. Maybe American scientists didn't want "one of their own" to be disparaged in any way.
