D&D 5E Mage Slayer feat, order of actions and concentration.

I hadn't ever considered Mage Slayer to be weak, but anytime I had a chance to take it it never really grabbed me. I suppose this conversation helps me understand why.

Here is how I might propose to increase the capacity of the feat.

Mage Slayer

-When a creature within your reach casts a spell, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. (Now allows reach weapons to work)

-When you damage a creature that is concentrating on a spell, that creature has disadvantage on the saving throw it makes to maintain its concentration. (No change)

-When a creature within 30 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to give yourself advantage on the saving throw against that spell, or impose disadvantage on a spell attack roll made against you. (Requires a reaction, but more flexible application prior to getting into melee range. Or a good option for ranged specialists)
