Mage Teas

I figure you'd need to take powdered tea with you, and brew it on the spot. A Balcunian Tea Device would make this a full round action to make.

My question then is how are they walking around with hot water all the time if they don't stop to make a fire and boil it? That's what I'm not following. Don't get me wrong, I think you've done great work here, I just don't see these being used in the middle of a typical series of encounters, only at the start of an adventure day, and then they better get in a fight soon. That's just what I'm seeing here...

I see your point. Perhaps a cantrip could fix the hot water problem. Perhaps it could be postulated that tea keeps its magic for 8 hours.

Or maybe it could keep indefinetly. Would that be unbalancing?

I don't think it's unbalancing. After all, potions keep seemingly forever as long as they're sealed.

By the way, this is still a great idea even if you can't take it with you adventuring.

I wouldn't let tea's magic work after the tea becomes cold, but I would reduce the price by at least 50%. A metamagic rod allows you to use the metamagic feat thrice a day, right? So after using the rod for 4 days it's already a better investment than the tea... plus it doesn't take over a minute to use. Considering how limited it is, I could see reducing the price even more.

You should send these teas off to Dragon Magazine!

Now that you realize it, i think the pricing is still a bit high. I try to err on the side of caution, but i was to cautious lol. /corrects.
