magic armor spells?

One of the things that struck me as odd about D&D was how there were no spells that gave enhancement bonuses to armor, yet it is possible to make magic armor with enhancement bonuses. Would it be too imbalancing or out-of-place to add two spells, magic armor (Sor/Wiz 1, Clr 1, Pal 1, War/Protection 1)and greater magic armor (Sor/Wiz 3, Clr 4, Pal 3, War/Protection 4)? It'd work exactly like the magic weapon spells, except the enhancement bonus would be to armor instead of attack and damage rolls.

Thanks! Another question: Should I make the arcane version the same level as the divine version or one level higher (like the magic weapon spells)?

Well

Personally, i wouldn't let Arcane casters have it... it mingles the lists too much if you cross polinate everything. But if you were to do so, I would make the Arcane version one level higher (ie 4th).

I would be curious if you were going to give the Cleric's some of the arcane spells as well to compensate.
