I'd just like to comment about your operating theory on fighters and magic items.

There's no argument here. There are hundreds of magic items that a fighter could take instead of a +40 to Hide magic item, that would all be just as beneficial. My point was to illustrate this, and that the example item was being "singled out" because someone hadn't put much thought into creating magic items.

Implying that a fighter should spend money "to upgrade his weapon or armor like he should" instead of commisioning an that gives a rather large advantage in an important as opposed to a marginal upgrade in weapons or armor leads me to believe that we disagree on some level here.

It was just an example. I even expanded upon it for you. Do you disagree with the post you just replyed to?

On the flip side as a PC I try to do things and come up with things the DM can use. Especially complications. As a PC I try to "Be naked and on Fire" I like my PCs to get in the most trouble and difficulties. THe worse the situation, the more compl, icated it is, the more worthwhile it is when I get out of it. I write up histories that have so many ways to screw me over. :D

Reminds me of my Rolemaster pirate character. Motto: I do my best work as a target. :)
