Magik weapon Bonus damage dice

This is a simple Lil Question, but Important.
I cant find anything in the DMG or PHB to prohibit a weapon being flaming, icy, shocking AND thundering.
There is no mention that the bonus damage dice dont stack or that they are mutually exclusive.

Does anyone out there know if this is infact allowed, or can someone quote me a page reference where this is infact prohibited.

You can add any enchantments you like to a weapon. The only restrictions are things like how keen can't be placed on a bludgeoning weapon, and vorpal must be placed on a slashing weapon. Otherwise, if you go by the book, you can mix and match enchantments freely.

Some DMs do have a problem with a weapon being flaming and frost simultaneously. Others think that a +1 weapon with +9 worth of specials stacked on it is cheesy (especially when used in conjunction with greater magic weapon). You might want to check with your DM before getting too deep into it.

If that is the case, Im a happy bunny, just seems that getting a D8+3D6+1 weapon for the same as a D6+4 weapon seems a little broken.

Time for more scheming in my weapon building programme.

Yeah, I am not sure about that either. The balancing factor used to be that you needed a higher 'plus' to get through DR. But now a +1 sword punches through DR/Magic just as well as a +5 sword.

[devil's advocate]
Of course, the elemental additions all have the "upon command" description, so there are those who rule that activating a shocking, flaming, icy sword would take three standard actions.

It doesn't harm the wielder, but nothing's said of elemental effects not harming the scabbard.

One could walk around with the flaming, shocking, icy effects all going at once, but that wouldn't work all the time. Stealth missions and diplomatic missions would sort of preclude having the sword's functions all activated at once.

There is a limit on the weapon up to a +5 bonus you can't have Weapon that is over 5 unless your Epic level here is the example.

Flaming +1 + Icy Burst +2 + Shocking +1= +4 bonus

While DR is no longer attached to the + of the weapon, each energy resistance now affects each blow of a weapon so ER 5 pretty much takes out any standard energy addition. Whereas before your shocking bow could fire enough arrows to overcome ER now each is sucked up.

It's not broken.

Here's the last thread we discussed this whole issue in, from about a month ago:

And, Blue Elf: the limit for Epic is >+5 Enhancement, or +10 total Market Price, not +5 Market Price. The weapon he's describing doesn't come anywhere close to requiring Epic rules.

With changes to Endure Elements in 3.5, it is quite a bit more difficult to acquire a broad range of energy resistance.

OTOH, any weird critter you met is likely to be resistant to one or more flavor when you are wielding a triple or quadruple energy weapon.

Nope. You can have as much as +9 of abilities in non-epic play. You just can't have more than +5 in enchancement or +10 total bonus.
