Makeing a none trip weapon, a trip weapon. any wtc rules?

Is their a wotc source that lets one add improved trip to a weapon and let one use that weapon as a trip weapon?

Anything similar that people can think of. I looked through all of the crystal keep stuff. All I could find was a staff in a dragon meg that added improved trip for 8000 gold (after reverse ingenerating) but I am not sure if that made the weapon a trip weapon or not.

another possibility is adapting disarming from magic of feyrun, but I’m trying not to dzn make anything myself as i am a player and not a dm.

Consider 'Sweeping' from the A&EG. While it doesn't actually state "You can make trip attempts with this weapon", I have a vague memory of a Sweeping Quarterstaff in... Magic of Faerun?

i agree, it is quite strange. I would think that if they only wanted to work with trip weapons that they should say so, yet they say only melee weapons, but dont say it allowes non trip weapons to become trip weapons.

I will ask my dm.

The Exotic Weapon Master PrC from Complete Warrior has an Exotic Weapon Stunt called Trip Attack: "The character can use a one-handed or two-handed exotic weapon to make a trip attack...."
