I dont have regular animals in my games, so axe-beak, various fantasy snakes, frogs and reptiles are pretty common food, with plenty of fishes and bugs to fill the gap. Purple worm larvae are a delicacy and mimic eggs are like tofu; they can immitate the taste of anything. Kruktik or ankheg eggs are also a good source of protein, but egg-hunter is a pretty dangerous job.

Oh, also if the avatar didn’t already imply this, here’s my take on the best way to make pizza in D&D:
Red Dragon Meal | Delicious in Dungeon Wiki | Fandom

I am probably misinterpreting this, but I am now inspired to try to make a meatloaf pizza.
The pizza was baked on a lightly flowered scale of a red dragon in place of a pizza stone. The “meatloaf” is a roast of the same dragon’s meat, and the soup is made with its tail meat, along with onion and turnip.
