I'm posting a little map I made with Hexmapper using my new tiles. I'm really hoping I can interest a few talented folks in creating more.

Wow! I had no idea my little HexMapper could make such cool maps!

I'm close to releasing a new version that has better line drawing, can place any TrueType character as a symbol of any size, color and rotation, a 1-step Undo, and is integrated with all of my other tools and little programs.

Would you have any objection to my releasing it with your new hexes? You would, of course, get the credit for making them all (even if you didn't actually draw each one :) )....

Thanks Len!
Please do use the tiles and really no credit is necessary.
I've got all sorts of ideas for customized tile sets like for starmaps or a set that is strictly color-coded.
I just know that there are many people out there that are far more talented than I am and I'd love to interest anyone in making custom tiles.

I'm considering posting to some of these sites where icon enthusiasts hang out. The tools used in making icons work equally well for making hex tiles.

I am working on a mapping project. Since these maps can fit together like a puzzle I thought it might be fun to create a large community made map.

We could create a starter map.
Randomly determine or poll for the direction of the next map.
Provide a list of map ingredients ala Iron Chef.
Map submissions would require a description.

The submission that becomes part of the overall map would be judged on composition, artistic presentation and use of the theme ingredient.

We’d end up with is a randomly human generated map with pre-selected key elements appearing in each sections.

BTW I am looking forward to the new release.

I use Adobe Illustrator to make my hex maps. You can take a look at them here:

www.d20play.com

Go to the world of toren page then click on any of the maps at the bottom of the page.

Tom the maps look great. I was just thinking of color-coded terrain. Perhaps you could turn them into HexMapper tiles! Or allow someone else to do it.:)
