3. Stay Away From Sex: If you're going to play a female character, try to stay away from romance and sex. Consciously or not, when you do this, you're using the game to work out your own psychological issues around inter-gender relations. More importantly, by engaging in quasi-masturbatory role playing, you're spoiling the game for your fellow players. Unless of course your fellow players don't mind or are right in there with you in which case I suggest that therapy may be a better use of your weekly gaming time.

I don't really buy that. Most players don't strive to play typical members of their own gender, so I am not disinclined to allow them to play atypical members of opposite genders.
When I was a teenager, I went through a stage where I played female PCs for a while, seeking something different. Having been fairly new to RPGs then, I don't imagine that my role-playing was anything special. She was an enterprising and headstrong heroine.
But years later, I met (and dated) a girl when I was in the navy who fit the characteristics that I had outlined for the character that I had made years earlier.
IME, there is very little that is especially elusive about playing members of the opposite sex.

Will he be capable of pulling that? I have a very hard time to believe that the character's roleplay will be credible... especially when I'll look at him and see his beard!..... and before you ask, no he's not playing a dwarf!
Part of it is the whole "lesbian evil dominatrix" thing that a lot of guys do. Another is that I've seen twice from different people, guys playing females and then flirting with other player's male characters just for the sake of making the player squirm and be uncomfortable. I've even seen a female player use a male character to do the same thing.
Don't worry about it. You're still okay in my book.Gez said:Now, I really feel like a freak. I mean, these behaviours are totally alien to me. Neither seen it, nor had the idea of doing it. I must not be normal.
