You're obviously a game designer genius, but they're not mutually exclusive.
Sigh, it's such a burden :D

Do you have a link to your familiar rules?

I'd rather not at this point. There are significant differences. They're not the same by any stretch. Just a lot of similarities. Companions as spirits (I had them as energy) that reform after a short rest if killed. Minor benefits just by getting one. Improvements through feats. Replacing your actions with theirs. Active and passive modes.

Then again, there are only so many ways you can solve the inherent problems with familiars and animal companions that has delayed their introduction in the first place. So I guess we just came to the same conclusions of how to solve them.

OMG!!
BOW, HEATHENS, TO THE GLORIOUS MIGHT OF WOOLY RUPERT!!

Please, please oh D&D gods, let that be the return of Giant Space Hamsters!!! :D
Me loves them, really me does!! ;)

One of the pics: Centaurs, for PCs?

My guesses about the racial paragon paths:

Adroit Explorer = Human (that have been give away)
Ancestral Incarnate = Deva
Bloodfury Savage = Half-Orc
Fey Beguiler = Gnome
Firstborn of Moradin = Dwarf (dah!)
Halfling Scoundrel = Halfling (double dah!)
Moonstalker = Shifter
Scion of Arkhosia = Dragonborn (maybe they have wings?! :))
Shiere Knight = Eladrin
Stoneblessed = Goliath
Turathi Highborn = Tiefling
Twilight Guardian = Elf (???)

Half-elves will not have racial paragon paths, drows, warforged, genasi and minotaurs already have some paragon paths based in race... so, where are the Gnoll PP?!

I wonder why "How to read a power" is changed.

Judging by the small page count (a couple pages _total_, I doubt it will be some sweeping change. I am guessing that it is to explain what "Aftereffect " in a power description is (it shows up in the druid preview, but isn't in the PHB, only currently in the MM (or DMG, forget which)) so a "player" reference does currently need to state what aftereffect means. And then I'm guessing that it'll incorporate any errata/updates for keywords (I think conjuration got clarified or something.. don't have the errata list handy right now)

Boo, mightiest rodent of Faerun!!
Minsc, craziest Barbarian of Faerun!!

"NOW MINSC LEADS!, SWORDS FOR EVERYONE!"
"HAVE RODENT, WILL TRAVEL!"

:D
Man I loved them :)

Wooly Rupert, Giant Space Hamster demigod (rodent)

:melee: POUCH CHEEK (encounter: recharge 5 6) Fort vs Reflex
Swallow's whole, and chews, 3d10 damage per round. Victims are dazed. victim can make an escape attempt on thier turn Dex or Str, vs Wolly Rupert's Fort defence.

:ranged:PHLEGM PROJECTILE (encounter, recharge 5 6) Requires a Pouch Cheeked victim
ranged 10, spits victim at target. Reflex vs AC, both phlegm-covered victim and target take 4d6 damage and are stunned and knocked prone until Wolly Rupert's next turn.

:close:BEHOLD THE CUTE (Daily) close blast 5, Wis vs Will.
Effect: victim is dominated and wants to hug and stroke Woolly Rupert.

Note, Gnomes take a -2 penalty on all defences versus Wooly Rupert, but are immune to Pouch Cheek damage
:D
