I'm checking out The Sworn, which is set shortly after the events in the Chronicles of the Necromancer series as well as The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie, which I picked up in an airport while awaiting the second leg of a return flight.

Hell, if we're throwing graphic novels into the mix, Walking Dead hardcover vol 4. I'm a bit behind the series. I like the hardcovers becuase they collect 12 issues at a shot and don't cost that much more when you get 'em discounted.

Two to go to catch up. One of these days I'll have to check ou the AMC series. I hear its good.

I just finished The Desert of Souls by Howard Andrew Jones. A fantastic debut novel...highly recommended for S&S fans.

I've also been reading The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazney. I'm currently on book six, Courts of Chaos.

Thieves' World. Turning Points. I hadn't read Thieves' World since I was about 12 or so, and found a copy at McKay's Books in Nashville for 1.95. I really enjoyed it, and it motivated me to finish Turning Points, which I had started a couple of years ago, but put down for some reason. I am about halfway through it, now, after restarting about a month ago. And before any of you goobers start ragging on me for being a slow reader, I should say that I only get to read for a few minutes as I am falling asleep, nightly.

Just finished the Forgotten Realms novel Horselords, by David Cook and Larry Elmore, and now starting is sequel Dragonwall by Troy Denning.

It is sort of an ironic title because the dragonwall, that protects the Shou Lung empire was breached in the end of Horselords and has not appeared at all in this novel.

Finished Dragonwall. It was much better then Horselords. Moving on to the last book Crusade.

I'm about halfway through Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows. I stopped reading just about anything when my daughter was born, but had gotten through Goblet of Fire around that time. However, now that my daughter is 8 and reading the Harry Potter books for herself, I decided to finish the series. I got the audiobooks for the first four from the library, and have read Order of the Phoenix & Half Blood Prince as well... I listened to the audiobooks so I could refresh my memory and also review the books with my daughter as she read them (she just started Goblet of Fire). I highly recommend the audiobooks - Jim Dale is terrific.

good series. Have to love that my daughter was so enthusiastic about reading that she was literally jumping up & down and yelling in excitement over some of the surprises at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban.

I started the month with The Road to Jerusalem by Jan Guillou, the second in the Templar Knight trilogy. I thought it was quite excellent, and liked it better than the first in the series.

I just finished "The Stolen Throne" by David Gaider. It's one of two books in the Dragon Age universe. Ordinarily I don't read computer game adaptations, but this one was halfway decent.

And I'm ending the month working on "The Religion" by Tim Willocks. It's a historical fiction about The Knights Hospitaller, or rather, Knights of St. John the Baptist, and the Siege of Malta. Rather graphic, but good so far.
