Silvanon peers down the tunnel/hole to figure out if he can see the bottom, or where this tunnel goes.

Silvanon judges the shaft to be between 30 and 40 feet deep. With the notted rope alone, getting down would require a jump at the end. If you take time to splice the two ropes together, it should be more than adequate.

*The group splices the ropes together, using Silvanon's keen eyes to check for any enemies that might approach from below. If we finish safely without being ambushed, we will drop the rope down and let each climb down, one by one, (the first bringing a light along to help us see) as the rest cover the descender with ranged weapons at the ready. We don't really have any other options right now.*

(OOC: Tied off, probably with someone holding onto it for the first descent just in case the knot doesn't hold. I'd like to send Weapon first, both because he has DR and because he will likely have the most trouble, so it would be bad to split the group and delay the rest of them by sending him in the middle)

OOC: Weapon volunteered to hold the rope. He can jump down to reduce some damage, but can climb decently as well for someone of his size. Is there something to tie it down to?

(OOC: Darn, no stalagmite or other such thing? How unfortunate. Well, Weapon can probably hold it off then. In that case, we should probably send Silvanon first so he can see farther ahead with his Low-Light Vision)

Silvanon watches the warforged tie the ropes together, in somewhat nimble fashion, which mildly surprises him.

After the two ropes are joined, there is nothing but silence in the area, he finally looks up from the hole and sees the rest of the group looking at him.

"Wha... You don't intend to send ME down there first, do you?"
A few moments pass. He finally gets the hint and slings his longbow onto his back.

"By the Hells! This isn't my day. Always send an elf to do a humans work..." He mutters under his breath, irritation showing in his mannerisms.

He grabs a hold of the rope, looks at Weapon, and says,"By all means -- do not let go."

He thens starts to descend into the hole, scanning the bottom for any movement.

"I can't believe I'm doing this."
