Martial Arcanist Build

Binho

First Post
Here we go again: my last attempt to make a build was questionable and really debatable. This time I come with a build that involves monk and wizard classes. I would like the opinion of the martial arcanists lovers to rate it and advise better feats, levels or prestige classes, to make it stronger or, at least, not so inferior to other common builds. I'm considering this weak and I would appreciate any help.

I'm not happy with the levels of Dragon Slayer and Spellsword, do you guys know any other PrC that would give CL and BAB+1?
Oh, please, I prefer to avoid Incarnum, ToB and psyonics. Comments please!

Have you considered Sorcerer instead of Wizard? If you take Ascetic Mage it will let you stack Monk and Sorcerer levels for certain monk features and you can use your Cha for AC.

Also, does Carmedine monk let you multiclass between wizard and monk?

Otherwise I'm sure there are people better suited here than I to crunch your numbers.

Whats your issue with those classes? I am not familiar with the dragon slayer but a dip in Spellsword is good. You channel any instantaneous duration spell you can cast into a melee strike. Yes, it provokes an attack of opportunity, but you are a monk you can channel spells into your arms, legs, and even head hours before battle. They also can be used against something any time with in 8 hours. You don't get that sort of tactical capability with any other channeling ability.

First and most importantly, what sources can you use?

Second, in the interim, check my sig.

I've already checked your sig and the other handbooks. I can use all the complete series and many books of the third edition. Faerun and Eberron books are easily obtained from a friend. Also there is many tools around the internet, like sites The Hypertext d20 SRD (v3.5 d20 System Reference Document) :: d20srd.org and Home – D&D Tools. Other them that would demand resorces that, if worth it, I am willing to pay for the book.

Well, Dragon Slayer is a class of 3.0. Spellsword is a class that lower the fail spell chance from armor. As a monk, I won't use armor anyway, also I would pick just 1 level, because I've already lost too many Caster Levels.

However, it also has the best channeling ability at just one level, in which you don't lose casting. As for not losing either with what you currently have I think you are out of luck. I think you really need to tell us what you want to make.

Did you also check the Monk database? Because some of the FR variants of the class would allow you free multiclassing with an arcane spellcasting class, saving you a feat.

Next: do you have a roleplaying concept behind this character, or is your main goal to have an effective/optimized character.

Or, to put it differently, is there something in particular you want this character to do besides mixing the martial and arcane?
