Martial Power Excerpts: The Aerialist Rogue

Some more looks at the Rogue from the Martial Power.

One thing that stands out from a generalist perspective is the Rogue has 12 PPs. So if we use that as a base and common for all that means in total there is around 48 PPs.

Hmm, there has been lots of mentions of ranged-Roguish stuff before and now with "Be the lethal shot in the dark, teach your knives to take wing". I am thinking one of the new Rogue Tactics will be a Ranged one.

I'm confused.

• New Rogue Builds: The aerialist and the cutthroat offer two new ways to fulfill your function, which, of course, is to quickly finish off your enemies.
  
• New Class Feature: You now have three rogue tactics options to choose from, including the new Ruthless Ruffian.

I thought a Build was the powers that key off a specific class feature. I.e. Artful Dodgers and Brutal Scoundrels are builds.

But, the aerialist and the cutthroat don't seem to be class feature type things, like the Artful Dodger/Brutal Scoundrel/Ruthles Ruffian (once more, I say stupid name).

Holy crap, Handspring Assault is brutal. Not only is it reliable (!) but it's 3W and shift. Sexy sexy stuff.

Aerialist? Was acrobat taken?

I like the idea of an Aerialist build, but all they really gave us was a build path and 2 powers. If their is an actual class feature for arielist Rogues, it wasn't mentioned in the article.

Well, I'll be getting the book regardless, but they really aren't giving out a lot of info with these teasers.

Ah, don't be like that. Say it with me, "Around the Rugged Rocks, The Ruthless Ruffian Reservedly Ravished the Rare Reptilian"...ok I give up.

Still, It does crack me up to imagine using the title in game.

"Better be on your guard maam, Rob here is a Ruthless Ruffian, but he's a Rather Refreshing Rascal if you get to know him."

The Builds are the examples on how to build a character not the Powers based off the Rogue Tactics. So these two new Builds are just like how in PHB there was Trickster and Brawny Rogue Builds.

There could be a Feature for it, we just know of one the Ruthless Ruffian. I could see another be a Acrobatics one (though this is already somewhat covered by Artful Dodger) and like mentioned in the original post a Ranged one.

I wonder if this "Agent of The Raven Queen" is one of those things they mentioned would be interesting for non-Martial classes, ie: A Cleric of the Raven Queen could take it.

A class build is just a put-together of options for when you're making a character fast.

A class feature is the bonuses you get for being a rogue, e.g. Artful dodger.
