I found one review of the movie:

http://www.moviehole.net/reviews/1487.html

"If film fans are let down with the result, imagine how the comic fans will feel: Not only is there really only the one fleeting appearance from the title character, but also his background story is almost near existent, and ultimately, his first foray into film: likely to be his last. While most Marvel movies have been imaginative, well-planned efforts, “Man-Thing” is as by-the-numbers as Bingo. It doesn’t even deserve to bare the all-familiar ‘Marvel’ title card at its commencement."

He also compares the "cheap, fruitless effects" to Howling 3. :(

Thanks for saving my time. A promo article was hinting at a "lovecraftian influence" to the movie adaptation. God those movie mags are lying trash.

and then there was the Daydreamers mini-series

starring Man-Thing, Howard the Duck, Artie and Leech (two mutant kids who used to hang out with x-factor which was the originally x-men on a new team) and Franklin Richards. (son of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four)

That was the cleanest swamp I have ever seen.

I used to get more mud on me fishing at farm ponds.

And that was the smallest oil well pumping station I have ever seen and this is an Oklahoman talking. What does that thing pump out, a gallon an hour?

Where is Tom Servo when I really need him???

City folk Sheriff: "Why is it called Bywater?"
Redneck missing his front teeth: "Because it is by the water."

That was worse than horrible. And I'm a fan, having all of the old Man-Thing comics. It was so bad on so may levels that it made the Howard the Duck movie seem good by comparison.
