Master of the Desert Nomads - your experiences?

First Post
Fourty-eighth thread of a series on the old classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure modules. It is interesting to see how everyone's experiences compared and differed.

Did you Play or DM this adventure (or both, as some did)? How about the second in the series, Temple of Death. What were your experiences? Did you complete it? What were the highlights for you?

I played this series as part of a stealth oriented evil party. We managed to steal one of the juggernauts and have an exciting chase across the desert as they pursued us. I have very fond memories of these mods, but I'm not sure how much of it was the modules and how much was my excellent DM. We were never able to track down the final adventure so the DM home brewed an ending for us.

I DM'd this module a very long time ago.

Its one of my favourite D&D modules to read (didn't like the sequel as much) and I had some fun running it (back when I was aged about 14 or so).

At that time I had the naive belief that I couldn't go wrong if I stuck to the treasure awards in the modules. By the time I ran this particular module the PCs were unbelievably rich, and seemed to have every magic item in the DMG.

They breezed through most of the adventure without breaking into a sweat, but it was sill plenty of fun. It introduced a handful of new monsters which seemed very apt and flavourful - like the juggernaughts and those dried up vulture men.
