Maximized Dispel?

It'd be a 6th level spell that gets rid of everything except spells by a 20th level caster. Am I missing a rule somewhere that would disallow this? In the last game the cleric had a brick of incense and it maximized all his spells for the day. The dispel sure was nasty.

Reread the feat on page 83 of the PH. You might be pleasantly surprised that the text actually addresses your question.

From the PH, page 83, Maximize Spell:

Saving throws and opposed rolls (such as the one you make when you cast dispel magic) are not affected.
