May and Beyond

They yugoloths reimagined for 4e so far haven't been named "yugoloths" or "daemons", but at least once they have been hinted at as being a semi-separate subgroup of fiends with more mercenary behavior and slightly less chaotic behavior. Don't remember which 4e book I read that in . . . .

Mezzoloths have become mezzodemons in MM1 and are described as being very mercenary, which is unusual for demons. No mention of demonic subgroups, though, unless you view the mezzodemons as a subgroup.

Arcanaloths were demons that have been driven out of the Abyss; they (or just their descendants?) have become raavastas in MotP. They lack the "demon" keyword; also no mention of related demons except for a possible kinship with rakshasas.

Planescape TRUE fan here. They should get rid of Devils and Demons, using only Yugoloths :P

Burn the heretics! :)

Nycaloths are nycademons, mezzoloths as mezzodemons and arcanaloths as ravaasta. Except they still call canoloths, well... canoloths. The removal of or rewriting of the fiendish naming conventions hasn't been applied consistently so far in 4e.

I'd put down money that the Incubi as demons tie into Graz'zt's backstory. Supposedly, he's not even truly a demon at all, but a devil who led an invasion into the Abyss and went native. I'm willing to bet that the new incubi are his servants, former succubi.

Yeah, I know that the suffix -loth is used inconsistently, I meant the actual word "yugoloth" referring to a group or subgroup of fiends. Yugoloths as a group do not yet exist in 4e, but perhaps they might once the Demonicon is released. At least I hope so, it would be cool.

I'm intrigued by the "summoning demons" section in Demonomicon. I wonder if that will be fluff for NPCs, or if that will be something PCs will be able to do.

That Volcanic Dragon looks pretty nice, especially the fact it does that noxoious aura damage EVERY TIME ITS ATTACKED!!

I also like the new format where they put the action types in different buckets, makes it easier to pick imo.
