Maybe mythology isn't all myth after all

Airwolf, I think you meant ISN'T ?

Actually, it doesn't surprise me. Most myths have a basis in a grain of truth somewhere. Hasn't it been theorized that tales of Dragons in Asia and Europe were based on the discovery of dinosaur fossils hundreds or thousands of years ago?

Actually it has been credited to the ancient cave bears (dire bears) whose fossils have been found. These beasts had skulls over two feet long and were extinct by the modern neolithic age.

The 4 1/2-foot (1.4-meter) tusk was found in September, along with seven fossilized teeth the size of softballs and several bones on farmland cleared to plant olive trees.

JUMPIN' JESUS ON A POGO STICK! That thing was frickin huge!

A bit disturbing

I believe Cyclopism is some sort of genetic disorder... I distinctly remember reading something of that sort when I was taking a mythology class.

Quick link with thanks to google:

Seems to be "Fraser's Syndrom".

The article I remember indicated that they had found remains of people with cyclopism in the Mediterranean area.

Warning: Disturbing Photo, look at your own risk

Edit: Please post a link to this picture rather than attaching it to your post. That way, nobody who doesn't want to see it will see it accidentally. Thanks.
