MD-DC-VA Gaming Day Game Signup! New Games Added

Do we have more games than gamers? I noticed no one has signed up for my afternoon slot. And while that does disappoint me to a degree, I can only wonder if maybe there are too many afternoon games scheduled? Of course, ENWorld might only represent a small percentage of the population who attends this thing, I don't know. How many people do we expect to be at the convention?

There's still a whole month of sign-up...I wouldn't start worrying yet. (This from the guy whose game is full, I know, you can smack me on 4/2.)

That said, maybe the unique format is making them skittish. Gamers who have never GM'd might be unwilling to try that in unfamiliar surroundings.

Also, there's probably some people (like me) that DM most of the time, and look at the Gameday as one of their few chances to play. Your idea could be fun, but if I'm only going to get 4 sessions/year to play instead of DM, I'm going for stuff I won't get to do otherwise.

Gonna be hard to top Old One's GT game from last time though. That was the most fun I'd had gaming in years.

Well, people are really wary of it. I'm having a bit of the same problem in the NC game day. But once people do it, they have a blast. My last group was the same way. Once they actually did it, they loved it.

I was just trying to get a feel for how many games are needed. If there are too many games, then I might be interested in playing, but I'm happy leaving it available otherwise.

I was told to expect 200 people throughout the day this year. It's a bit unfair, but you guys have a bit of a head start on the game signup, since we have not started our external advertising yet.

As for contacting players, last time we kept it over email to reduce the stuff on the messageboards. You can post your email adress and ask all of your players to message you.

Well, it's just more of an incentive for them to register on ENWorld, now isn't it?

die_kluge - any chance of you making specific PCs for your AM game? (i.e. we give you a description of what we are looking for and then you build it?)

I am thinking about making that offer for those interested in my afternoon HARP game. Making characters for the players is easier than just doing up a bunch of random PCs, at least since I am only running the one game. :D

Rasyr, I'd be happy to do that. I've been working on a HARP character sheet, since there isn't one in Word, so I've been creating my own. And once I'm done, I'll throw together some PCs for it. Haven't decided on level. I was thinking 1st, but I may end up going with 2nd or 3rd.

Yea, if anyone has a specific character request for the "M is for Murder" game, let me know. I'll be happy to make it. I'm not allowing monks, though, for simplicity.
