Hey all,

Rich (Cthulhu's Librarian) and I will probably be bringing some swag from the ENnies to distribute. Any bright ideas about how to distribute it? I don't know how much Rich is bringning, but I should have 10-20 books.

I am also planning on bring products to be used as door prizes.

One idea about distribution. I have some rolls of tickets. These are singles, so when giving them to somebody, you would have to tear it in half and give half to the person, and put the other half in a container. Then once an hour or before and after each game slot, you draw one or more ticket-stubs and awards the winners a given prize.

Like I said, I can provide the tickets and I can also provide a large plastic container in which to place the stubs.

Another idea would be to do something similar to the NC Game Day folks. Put all the prizes on display, and have several containers, and sell the tickets (25 or 50 cents each). This way folks get to select which prizes they want to have a chance to win, and the proceeds can go to financing the next Game Day.....

Oopsie! I forgot about that discussion... hehe

Anyways, other than the money part, each person could be handed a specific number of tickets, and then still place them where and how they want...

Could we make this sticky or something? Find it on page 7 is a bit of a pain. :p

(1) DRM (Kevin) - Can we get table number/number stands (frequently used in banquest) from the nice student union folks? If not, does anyone have a line on where we could borrow 10-15 of these for the day? I would like to at least have the dedicated gaming tables numbered for ease of navigation.

Also, do they (student union) have sign stands or easels we can use to display our signage?

I'll check into that. Kinkos might have something, or we could just fold paper into triangles. We get about 1000 free copies from the copy center folks.

(2) Rodrigo has offered to help with the signage...can anyone assit him? I am a bit challenged in the graphics artist category, so I am next to useless. What I would like to see are the following:

* 2 Posterboard signs listing the Games by Table #, Genre and DM for each session

* 3-4 Posterboard directional signs to TerpCon '04 with the Room Name and Floor on it

Our Treasurer/Secretary is named Lara, and happens to be very artistic. I'll ask her.

(3) Can anyone put together and digitize a Map/Directions set that we can attach as a file to this thread? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

I'll see what I can do. Map/Directions shouldn't be that hard, particularly since parking is pretty easy.

(4) DRM (Kevin) this one is for you again...are there any prohibitions to bringing non-alcoholic beverages into the SU? For instance, can I buy a pallet or two of Mountain Dew and other assorted caffiene-laced products and have them available in coolers for our attendees? We wouldn't be selling them...just giving them away.

I'll have to check about giving stuff away, but the Union is pretty nasty about food that doesn't come from the University. UMD Catering has a bit of a monopolistic hold on food around here, and they might throw a hissy fit. I'll check with them. The food court downstairs is pretty well stocked though.

(5) Those kind souls that have offered to help with set-up/take-down...plan on meeting me on-site right at 8:00am to help get things organized. I will probably have 2-3 specific duties identified prior to the event and will post those here as they develop.

What am I missing?

It's pretty simplistic. Show up, have tables and whatnot in their right place, and hope the DMs actually arrive on time. Some sort of a front desk would be ideal to help people get where they want to go. Are we going to do name badges or anything like that?

I think we have issues with money changing hands at the event that might make a raffle impractical.

Under no circumstances can we even think about having money change hands at the Con. To do so would require security in the form of a police officer at $40 an hour or so.

Drm...

DRM,

Thanks for the responses! I think Rodrigo is working on the signage, maybe Lara can contact him to offer some help. I think he is out of town next week, so she may want to touch base this week.

Just let me know on the soda issue...I know how touchy venues are about outside food/drink.

PS - I agree on the raffle...no $s!

V:tM game

Kevin - this is Julie posting, just so you know. I hope this is where I am supposed to post this - if it isn't let me know and I will move it. I would prefer an afternoon slot, but if necessary I can run in the morning.

Teaser: The high-society kindred of Chicago are known for their outrageous parties and lavish shindigs. Tonight one of these 'dos' is scheduled to be held at the Red Room a private club on top of the Prudential building that overlooks Lake Michigan. While billed as an evening of unparalleled enjoyment and indulgence everyone knows that it in gatherings like these that deals are made that shape city politics, reputations are made and broken, and the beasts of well controlled and polished kindred are writhing just beneath the surface.
