generally, killing a caster does little good to stop their spells, other than ones that require concentration. Heck it can make a situation worse since the caster is no longer around to dismiss the spell. And if the caster charmed them, the victim's best friend was just killed in front of him or her, lets hope that victim is not violence prone...
