Technically, it's up to WizKids and FanPro if they wish to license their BattleTech and MechWarrior IP for such RPG.

Of course, you can try and create an original mecha setting for a new d20-based RPG.

Oh, I can come up with a mecha setting easily enough. I need rules. I've been looking at the vehicle combat rules in Star Wars and contemplating a mecha expansion.

Grab your Dungeons Master Guide, and a Dragon Star "Starfarer`s Handbook".
Look at the Advancement Rules, than look at the Robots. Remove the Rule that Robots have no Constitution Score, give them a Standard Score of 12 for Medium size Robots. Now, increase size to get the different Mechs with different Hitpoints.
You might decide that every Mech has a Base Attack Bonus like a Wizard. (Half Hit Dice), as a targeting system or something like that...

...has anyone ever called you a government experiment geneticly engineered to be able to compile RPG data into it's simplest and most understandable forms for the benifit of all mankind?

Mechwarrior D20 would be nice, especially seeing as integrating the RPG side of it to work well with the already good old FASA battletech system would be relatively simple.

But considering wizKids are heroclix mad with all these clickable base turn the dials malarky atm..... i doubt we'll ever see it from the current license holders.

The current heroclix version is IMO a travesty to the fine Battletech name... the system that was in place already was good, it didn't need turning into a parody version of itself.. still that my own personal rant....and each to thier own <g>

whats happening to the world all my favourite games are vanishing or being bought up by Toy Companies, who go on to treat and think of them as more toys......<tut>
