ATSDR is also another possible. since they don't know the source. chemicals or natural agents may be a consideration.

the Division of Quarantine (although they don't like that name any more) falls under NCID.

i don't see them preventing travel into and out of the area. but that may also be a consideration. in which case (we don't have any real army) they would ask the state to use their troops. National guard probably.

basically it is a questionnaire. similar to those handed out at the mall.

demographics taking up most of the info.

and then specific questions. most don't get larger than 4 pages. they tell you not to make them big or to use too many big words. (readable by anyone with a 6th grade education)

all of the media/ press coverage is supposed to be handled by the state rep.

also the findings are presented to the state reps. it is up to them to release any of the information. although it is all available thru the freedom of information act.

Would an ASTDR person and a CDC person be too much? Any other suggestions, tips or advice? I have very little knowledge on this field unfortunately :(.

eventually the epidemiologist will do an in house write up or present their findings back at the home office.

it is called the mmwr (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) and many medical professionals read it.

as an example the April 21, 2000 topics were:

  • HIV-related tuberculosis in transgender network

E.Coli O111:H8 outbreak among teenage campers

Public Health Aspects of the Rainbow Family of Living Light Annual Gathering

Prevalence of Leisure-Time Physical Activity Among Overweight Adults

no it is very likely that could happen. the politics would play a part though. but i think that would add to the roleplay. ;)

Are the two groups competative?

Oh, is there a standard issue outfit? Would they likely wear masks for this? What kind of preventative actions would take place, you think?

If I'm harassing you for too much info, sorry... just a bit of a goldmine to find someone working for the CDC :).

Yeah, I'm following the thread out of interest myself. Good to know for Modern CoC type stuff.

Hey Diaglo, you don't happen to know anyone who was working in the CDC in Atlanta by the name of Foley (Nickname online ages ago used to be Belal).
