In general, have you folks found that EN World has been useful in meeting new friends//gamers? I know that the Boston game days have been pretty good at that for me, and the Chicago game days have been incredible successes. Any comments or stories?

Not so much, but mostly because I'm lame, introverted, and busy (in that order). I did get to play Feng Shui with Piratecat, Dr. Midnight, Umbran, Chronosome, Davelozzi, and (counts on fingers) some folks whose usernames I can't remember, at the first Boston Enworld game last year. Got to meet KidCthulu the same evening. It was a good time. Is another one planned for any time soon?

I have gotten to know Forrester, although we didn't actually meet through EN World. We played in a Forgotten Realms campaign together, I played in his Against the Elves game, and I had the pleasure of watching him play an elf during a short LotR run last month. Oops, wasn't supposed to tell anyone about that last one. :D

Forrester played an elf. I feel betrayed some how and I never even met him. :(

I met Jester, he's pretty cool. Great gaming stories, as all true gamers have. I found my current group though EN World, so that has obviously worked well. And we are trying to get together an Ohio Gameday. So, once that happens I imagine I'll get to meet a lot mor eof these people. I thank Morrus, Eric, and ABBA for this. :D

Ohio Game Day will be my first time to meet ENWorlders. I look forward to it with much enthusiasm! It should be a good time had by all, especially since I'll get to have Adriaticos Pizza again.

While I have not met anyone from these boards (other than those who are already in my group), I did talk with SHARK a few nights ago on the phone. I can only say we had a great conversation and before I knew it an hour or so had passed! Now I have to work on meeting him, Leopold, T-Billy, Cardinal Sinister and many others at a con sometime. :)

i just wanna meet SHARK and i'll be set..kick back a few glasses of ole scotch whisky and light up a good cigar and chat about ole times...ahh the life...

well, jester is the only person i have met in real ife terms.

i have done some business with folks here on the boards, and have made some great friends who i wouldn't recognize if they walked up to me.

i knew tarchon before there were boards, so i guess he doesn't count :)

So far, I have met Eric, and the inimitable P.A. (whose contributions here I miss dearly), both at Gencon 2000, and was told I missed Piratecat by mere minutes at one location. The only other person I met was a great guy who posted to these boards as phillyphil (and later as archvillan, I believe), and I got along rather swimmingly with him - he and another of my gaming friends had lunch together at Gencon.

One of these days, when I have more cash than sense, I may take a trip to the Boston area during one of those "Boston ENWorld" get-togethers, and meet P-Kitty and some of the other personalities of note from the region, just to say hi!

I am studiously planning to go to Gencon 2003 in Indy, and hope to meet quite a few people there when I go!
