Meeting EN Worlders in real life

I love meeting ENworlders.

Sometime this week or next, I should be meeting The Jester himself for the first time. There's even a chance he'll be able to sit in on my Saturday campaign, which I think would be great.

I've played in several games with Gospog, P-cat, Chronosome, DaveLozzi, KidCthulhu, Umbran, and others... it's always a great time. I've been trying to hammer P-cat into another Boston area F.S. game... if only he'd write back to me... *sniffle*

Yes, as ever, big squishy hugs to Eric and Morrus... and Piratecat as well, who's a huge chunk of just why this place is so great.

Haven't met a soul (or corpse, for that matter). I don't make it to many gamer-social events. My group consists of people I met in college and people we've worked with since. I'm actually the most "community" oriented guy in the bunch (I'm not counting the guy who has been to EQ conventions because he doesn't seem to overlap his D&D and EQ oddly enough).

On the other hand, I'm not intentionally stand-offish, either. If anyone ever makes it to the Cedar Rapids, IA area, I'd be up to meet and maybe do a pick-up game. Likewise, I semi-regularly make it to the Des Moines/Ames, Sioux City, and St. Louis, MO areas for various reasons.

I'm one of those who's not actually met anyone, but because each year I get a bit closer to going to Gen Con, hopefully I'll get to do it at some point in the future. Now that I'm one of those precocious college students maybe it'll be more likely, hm? 'specially since I'm no longer living at home... :D

And, yup - to chime in a thanks for Eric, Morrus, and the whole mess of people that make the boards, well... The Boards. ;)

I haven't met anyone :( Hopefully I'll have a new(er) car soon and be able to make it to either the Ohio gameday or the next Chicago gameday. I would trust my current rust bucket to make it farther than a few miles.

Anyone up for a 7-11-at-the-corner-near-Meepo's-house gameday? :)

Forrester played an elf. I feel betrayed some how and I never even met him. :(

To be fair I twisted his arm. "Come on, it's only three sessions. See how the other half lives... It will give you ideas to make the elves in Against the Elves even more despicable... Besides, who's ever going to know?" :D

So he made the most cheaty, arrogant, insufferable elf wizard he could come up with. Over the course of the run he (inadvertently, I think) got nearly all of his elven followers killed, and finished the game by getting his face chewed off by a vampire.

I would find it pretty hard to argue that he betrayed the cause. :p

I've only met a couple of ENWorlders, and although I was pretty wigged about hanging out with folks that I'd met over the internet, it turned out to be pretty cool. I met Piratecat, Conaill, Umbran, and, briefly, KidCthulhu — I don't think there was anyone else from the boards there. Cool folks all of them and Paranoia was a lot of fun, although I had to rush out pretty quickly after the game to catch the T back to Somerville. I'm sure I thanked PCat and KidC for hosting that game, but if I didn't (aside from presently being mortified at my rudeness) — thanks for opening up your home for the game, it was a great time. :)

Edit — I should also say that I had a wicked nice conversation with Umbran on the T. Just a neat time altogether.

Best.

I have met my entire gaming group through this site and enjoyed 3 kick butt Chicago game days full of local ENers. Since Indianapolis is a bigger trek than Milwaukee for Gencon, I hope to hook up with some ENers while I am there.

Yup...

KTT and I live just down the street from each other. I can see his house from my front yard. Until I met him on the ENBoards, I never knew a fellow gamer was right next door.

Now we game together, and carpool to the Chicago Gamedays.

Three cheers for Eric and Morrus!

I've been very lucky to meet lots of the EN Boarders at two Gencon meetings and three Chicago Gamedays. Probably about a hundred and fifty or so in total.

Knowing me, knowing you, It's the best I can do...[/ABBA ] ;)
