Meeting EN Worlders in real life

My experiences have been entirely positive - managing to meet Piratecat, KidCthulhu, Sagiro, Bandeeto, Wulf Ratbane and several others in Boston last month. Great people, great fun and I would never have met them if it wasn't for ENworld.

Cheers Eric, Morrus and others!

I haven't met anyone through EN World yet (I know NuclearPenguin before he got to these boards which he doesn't frequent at all, so that doesn't count).

I hope to go to GenCon next year in IN so I can actually meet some of you people. You are the coolest group of people I've ever known. I want to especially meet Piratecat, Teflon Billy, Morrus, Eric, Nightfall, alsih20, Harlock, Hildulf, Thatdarncat, Seri, TwinRose, Mark, Meepo, etc. If I missed anyone, it's because I'm tired.

EDIT: ACK! Of all people to forget, I forgot Eric Noah.

b) WanderingMonster, aka Scott, who lives in Madison, has lovely kids, and who has led an eerily parallel life to my own (we've had the same boss!).

ERIC NOAH IS MY HOMUNCULUS!

And I live in New Lisbon now. That makes me a New Lisbian.

I've met a few folks from the boards and really enjoyed it. The time spent withCreative Mountain, Morrus, Twin Rose and THG Hal[ was the best part of Gen Con for me.

I have a good number of friends from the EN Boards in my hometown, but of them only Geist was met here at the EN boards.

My best friends and staunchest allies here, however, are people I have yet to meet. I hope at some point in the future to cross paths with King Stannis, Quickbeam, SHARK, Snoweel, Talath and Colonel Hardisson.

I have corresponded extensively with all of these folks, but as has been mentioned by others in the thread, there is really no substitute for the booze/cigars/kicking back element of a face-to-face meeting:)

For those old timers that post here, I used to go by the name of "tokyogamer". :)

But since I moved back to the U.S. early this year, I felt a name change would be appropriate. ;)

I have met SHARK in person and got to play in his game for a whole weekend! That was a lot of fun. He and his wife are incredibly nice people and we have become good friends.

I have also spoken on the phone with Taloncomics. Another really nice guy! :)

You start singing "Dancing Queen", and I am so outta here.

No, really, don't call him on this. I joined in with him on the chorus, and he nearly scratched my eyes out!!!

O.K. - Now to be serious...

Kevin is the first and only internet accquaintance I have met IRL, and you know how people are always saying he's the nicest person you could ever meet? Yeah well, they really don't do him credit.

Now I don't mean icky young-Donnie Osmond nice, the guy is interesting, funny, and charming (and that was when he was sick as a dog*cough*cat)! But just so damn nice!

You would have thought my wife and I were doing him a favor by allowing him to have us at his house and give us tips about visiting Boston.

Sum Kevin up in three words?

"A class act."

Thanks again, we both really enjoyed meeting you! :)

Well I havent met anyone yet but since I have been a lurker since the original boards I cant wait to meet some of the folks who I have been reading their threads for a couple of years now.
Since I only live 2 hours north of Indy, hopefully I will meet a bunch of people at the 03 GenCon.
