Melee attacks across the boundary of an antimagic field.

I've seen this tactic used before, and I'm wondering about any issues concerning it I may be missing.

The tactic is standing inside an antimagic field in such a way as to keep your opponents from entering it. As has been described to me, as you attack a target outside the field, any magic effect on your weapon reactivates and you get the benefits of using magical weaponry, but any attacks your opponents direct at you are weakened because they occur within the field.

Should the situation work like this? It seems like a cheap trick, but I don't see any way it doe not follow the RAW.

Bull rush, grapple, disarm. Wander away and wait the spell out. The tactic can be overcome.

This tactic could also be done with magical ammunition (althought not magical missile weapons).

Does it seem cheesy? Not really. It sounds like good use of protection to me. Antimagic fields have many screwed up facets (like the ability to cast spells on yourself which are merely supressed until the spell ends--anymagic shouldn't allow casting at all, but it does) but I don't think this is one of them.
