Mentions Not Working in Social Groups

Anytime I mention someone in a social group the mentioned name is replaced with 'Morrus' and the mention is disabled. This seems to be on purpose but I'm not sure. If it is on purpose, could we get it changed?

I'm pretty sure that's not on purpose.

The mention tags are still not working correctly for me in social groups - once saved the post still reads '[MENTION=1]Morrus[/MENTION]' but is not actually a mention at all (at least his name isn't in yellow and underlined).
