Merciful Weapons, Torture, and rules ironies..

a holy sword can be used to make a wight. They give negative levels to evil things that pick them up...if you die from negative levels you return as a wight. Where do evil undead come from? Holy swords!

Equally odd, a wight can use a holy sword with no penalty whatsoever (unless it is an intelligent holy sword, in which case a battle of wills would commence).

For instance, giving a weapon the merciful ability (always does subdual damage) ironically makes a wepaon better suited for torture. You can't accidently kill somene with subdual damage, but it still hurts. They will eventually pass out, but you won't need to waste healing on them, since they will wake up on their own, and be ready for some more beating.

Sorry mate, I'll still employ the trusty ole "torch to the groin" ;)

You guys need to think outside the box.

Regenerate is the way to go when you finally had enough of the 'Holier than thou' 'We can't kill them if they surrender' Paladin.

With a regenerate you can sever various 'Unsed due to Vow of Chastity Cheese weaseling' Parts Over & Over & Over & Over & Over & Over & Over.

And once that gets boring...

You can fill his 'Holy Aura' with really, really sharp bits of metal, Cast Heat Metal, then continue with the Called Shot Mace to the Groin.

Then you can feed him a Flask of Oil of Slipperiness with several dozen +1 Caltrops. Then just sit pack and wait for those babies to enjoy their 5 minute Tour of an Humanoid's Entire Digestive System.

Also,

Whoopy Cushion:

OK.

Whoopy Cushion with Beads of Force:

Funny.

For the record the Paladin had it coming.

The entire party contributed to begin to make up for the Pain this Paladin caused on a Daily basis.
