Messing with creating a ½ race. :D

Hey Everyone.

I was borded today, so I decided on making a ½ Celestial Noble Drow. I am having a blast on creating this race mixture from a Celestial and a Noble Drow. This is just for fun. I had decided witha Psi-Warrior Class. I was wondering what others think of me creating this character? Keep in mind this is just for fun nothing more.:D

Question how would you justify on this creation of ½ Celestial Noble Drow?

Justify? ... Descended from a Prisoner of War. You could go either way with that, although being a captured celestial might be kinda hard ... any offspring would likely be killed (along with the drow parent ... unless s/he grabs kid and runs for they're worth ... manages to survive on own or find a sanctuary, or even some non-slaughter happy drow ... like a merchant/merc company that regularly deals with black (no pun intended) market contact between everyone.)

I kind of like the idea of the Drow being the prisoner and the descendant leaving home to adventure.

option 2: Artifact blast [time bandits] Mum! Dad! don't touch that stone, its EVIL [/time bandits] (something like that)

The character if raised by the drow could be the result of a female drow succeeding a celestial in an attempting tempt him into falling from grace. If she actually causes the celestial to fall then a child of the union would be celebrated enough for him to be treated like any other drow child. Until the age of 8-10+ when other houses forget about the success of the mother, life among the drow becomes far more dangerous, prompting the young teen to flee for an adventuring life. If your life is that dangerous why not seek to turn a profit.

The character is raised by the celestial could be the result of a female celestial being knocked out in battle. The male drow rapes her then begins to transport her back to his house for the matrons mothers to sacrifice her to Loth or another evil god. But an attack frees her before this happens. She raises her unfortunate, unwanted offspring.

Or the male drow rapes her and slits her thought leaving her for dead but she stabilizes and found by good Sumerians and nurse her back to life.

There 3 back stories that can be used to justify this character racial makeup.

*snirk* Sumerians. Sorry, I just find the history flub a little funny. I suppose they could be good sumerian, although the parable uses samaritan.

Back on topic. Divine Child of the Spider Queen may work. Hard to come up with something too specific, though, without knowing the general setting. Golaron? Another published setting? Homebrew?

Sumerians, heh :p

I laughed too, sorry ... otherwise the rape thing is just a bit to much for me, I'm more of consensual background person. Point being you're right, there are ways to justify the characters background ... and then leave it at that, just 2 or 3 sentences, save the rest for the DM to make your life more fun.

Now I have the song by They Might Be Giants stuck in my head

(pst Samaritans, unless you really meant agents of Marduk and Ianna trying to stymie the drow too)

I meant to use the Bible's Good Samaritans not Sumerians although they are from the same region just different eras. But my point was it does not take much to justify the pairing.

If you do make the child a direct child of Loth and placed in a favored matron mother care to raise will create very interesting background for the PC. The matron mother does her best to raise the child to maturity without tipping her had in protecting the PC in the teen years. She would have no love at all for the child and she may even show fear of the child.
