Michelangelo

Crothian

This is a little board game by Buchephalus Games that I've played a few times. It has been a fun little game and I'm wondering if anyone else has had the chance to give this a shot.

No one knows anything at all about it. Its very new. Even BBG doesn't have any real information on it. Can you tell us anything about it?

Yes I can. I got a review copy so I've played it and read it. I don't know when it was released so I didn't realize it was that new. I'll start with the opening of my review and go into more when I'm not so tired.

Being an apprentice to the legendary Michelangelo must have been very busy and filled with unique options. One fo the latest games by Bucephalus Games has players take up the roles of Michelangelo’s apprentices. The players get to work on the classic pieces of art as well as play politics with the five families of Renaissance Italy. The game has a good amount of strategy as well as is difficult. It is designed for two to five players, it recommended for anyone over the age of twelve, and a game should last for about an hour.

The game plays pretty well. Each persondoes something in the morning, then in the afternoon, then the master does his work in the evening.

In the morning one either works for one of the five families or does work on one of the masterpieces. In the afternoon one either buys a title or manupulates the politics of the families. The game grants points for each piece of art that is finished that people worked on and for each title the person buys. Money is gained by working on art (but only getting paid when it is finished) and working for one of the families. Working for a family also makes titles for that family cheaper.

It is a game i find a little hard to explain with out getting out the board and showing things to people.
