Michele Carter's Big Playtest Post!

About the mystery race : it probably has good playability as a cleric.
At this point we still don't know what makes a good cleric; we might could assume high wisdom but I'm thinking that might not be as solid a case as it was before.

I'd think full Orc as the best bet. Drow are too much like the two already-existing elven races; indeed most other humanoid races are too much like one of the ones already known to exist.

*GASP* +3 HOLY VORPAL LONGSWORD!!!

What? where? Mine!

Very interested in all these new powers that are being handed out to PCs and really looking forward to looking through them all.

It's exciting to know that every player has a really good way to shine and be a part of the larger fight without necessarily needing to Hit Things With A Weapon.

I particularyl like "They didn't intend to use the Wizard to flank, but they were, like, there and everything..."

I think that a Human offshoot like Mohj would work well for the mystery race as well. Spock as a compelling player character.

I'm guessing the mystery race are Changelings or whatever that race from Eberron is. Hmm. Or maybe they're Warforged? Whatever the case, it'd be interesting to see a campaign in which either race conquered the world (The Changelings doing it by subversion while the Warforged do it through pure military force).

Incidentally, is anyone else as thoroughly envious as I am at how many games this woman's able to pack into a week? :p

I am very jealous that she can pack in as many games as she can... and she probably gets paid for it also. :) I wish I could.

It may just be an Orc. Or a Hobgoblin.

I am leaning towards Hobgoblins due to their lawful alignment and propensity, according to canon, to be highly organized.

I am going to put my vote in for Hobgoblin for the mystery race, but I also remember reading the rumor when they first announced 4e that Changeling might be in the phb, but they also said the same about drow. But they never mentioned Hobgoblin or any of the other goblinoid races.

Plus, didn't Hobgoblin's get a Wisdom bonus to their racial stats in 3.x?
