5E Mike Mearls is back on the D&D RPG Team

Three weeks ago, WotC's Jeremy Crawford told us that Mike Mearls was no longer working on the tabletop RPG, and hadn't since some time in 2019. Today, the (newish) D&D head Ray Winninger said on the company's Twitch livestream that Mearls is now back full-time on the tabletop game.

Mike Mearls is back full time on the RPG again. He was splitting his time working on some computer game stuff for us, but he’s back.

He still doesn't appear to be back on social media since his final tweet back in 2019.

A case of whimsical musical chairs at Wizards of the Coast?
Or clueless decisions by top management pushing the labor around?

What happened to Matt Sernett? On the LYSK stuff then gone and looking for work on LinkedIn and twitter. Anyone know and not tied to a conspiracy theory?

He was let go in 2018, just before Waterdeep was released. Dunno about any reason, per se, though he did get in a Twitter tiff with Bruce Heard, of all people, about Mystara shortly beforehand...

Anti-inclusive content - Please read the rules about being dismissive with terms like "virtue signalling"
Did he learn his lesson about feeding the toxic beast that turned against him? Probably not. Virtue signal away! Mike Mearls was the best thing that happened to D&D and the fact they got rid of him, over some loud insignificant voices on Twitter, was stupid.

Virtue signal away!
Mod Note:

Please note from The Terms and Rules:

"... You MAY NOT use the terms "agenda", "ideology", "politics", or "propaganda" in relation to the inclusion of people slightly different to you in gaming products or other media, use pejorative terms such as "social justice warrior" or "virtue signalling" to dismiss the opinions of those you disagree with ..."

So, you're done in this thread.

Don't go there, folks. Thanks.

This is exactly the reason I haven't posted here in years. It's also why I stopped buying ENWorld published stuff.

Sigh. He never was "gotten rid of" he quite social media of his own volition, that was it.
