Mike Mearls now employed by WotC

Heh, I think I applied for the same position at WotC that Mr. Mearls did. They gave me a little written test to see how I feel about different aspects of gaming. I'm now really curious about what Mike wrote, if indeed this is the same position.

Now, as I understand it, Mike is what they call an "RPG Developer" which is different from an RPG Designer. As I understand it (hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong), a developer takes the designer's work and makes sure that all the rules and mechanics are sussed out properly for it.

Does that mean that all feats will now have "Special: This feat can be taken only once. Its effect does not stack" ?

(That's a jab at Wildscape, in which all the armor-related feats had this weird line.)

Excluding people formerly employed by Wizards, I can't think of a better choice.

For that matter, even including people formerly employed by Wizards, I can't think of a better choice, at least as far as my tastes are concerned.

Thanks everyone! The feedback I've received from EN World posters has helped make me a better designer, so thank *you* for everything.

I'm pretty excited about this opportunity. It's funny - this was the first time that I had fun at a job interview. There were times when I was disappointed that the interviews had to end. I was like, hey, let's keep going. I want to talk some more about D&D.

Congrats to Mearls!

Now, I'm waiting for the whole "Mearls now works for WotC: 4E is immenent!" threads...maybe not waiting rather than dreading.
