Don't let the Christian extremists hear you say that

Oh the wonderful talk I had when I walked into the Christian Bookstore after a trip to buy some random D&D item or another. If I had had my backpack I wouldn't have missed that bus. Ah well.

Alas my current group are getting a little too attatched to all the crunchy bits that come with 3rd edition d20 published produicts which means after this campaign I'll have to steer them away from it. They aren't going to like me banning templates let alone non wizards of the coast D20 items. They'll live though.
Well, keep in mind that DMs can use crunch from other sources if they want, but if the players change campaigns they may need to rebuild the PC, which sucks. That isn't going to come up that often though. The setting guide is just the official source material.

The world was misinformed during the 1980s by the sensationalistic media and the Christian community was particularly misinformed by some christian leaders (some self-proclaimed) whoes sources were a couple of people who either had no idea what they were talking about or were complete liars (as people seem want to do to get attention).

Things are different today since a lot of church leaders are former D&D players. A few are even current players such as myself. Oh, you won't find D&D at church youth group activities but it is much more widely accepted than it was in the 1980s. The christian community realized that a lot of the panic in the 80s was nothing more than hysteria. The community as a whole is better at seperating real social problems from percieved ones.
